There are many options for flights to India.

I find for long flights like these Air Canada is a good alternative, and is about 1300 with only one stop in Frankfurt. For more information check the Air Canada website: http://www.aircanada.com/en/home.html.

There are also flights directly from Toronto and from Ottawa. I love the service of Air India; they have flights from Toronto, England, Amritsa.
